More about the research

Everyone sleeps. Most people dream, even though they might forget about the dreams when they wake up. And everyone has to go to the toilet at some point. These are universal experiences that connect every human being since we first descended from the trees. That's why I'm researching sleep, dreams and the connection to gut bacteria, especially in infants, where there hasn't been done much research.

Beyond Science

In my free time, I love sending and receiving postcards from all over the world, having sent and received over 900 postcards.

I also do Zumba and spend time with my two cats and partner at home or in the garden. Reading, baking and playing some video games are also on the list of my hobbies. Also, there's not many escape rooms I haven't tried yet nor many Netflix shows I haven't at least tried out.

I'm very interested in space exploration and all things related. I had the chance to visit the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston as well as the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California 🚀

And as a sleep researcher, of course I do like sleeping and taking the occasional nap.
